When a traumatic even occurs, a piece of your soul may break off and be stuck in that time and place.
This piece keeps reliving the trauma over and over and over again.
This does, indeed, include an event that could have happened in a past life, this current one, and even future lives.
This may be the cause of you not being able to just get over any past event.
